“Nothing is less real than realism…details are confusing…it is only by selection, by elimination, by emphasis that we get at the real meaning of things” ~Georgia O’Keeffe 1976 unpaginated text
I am too often distracted by the clutter of my life, by the details that tend to confuse rather than illuminate. By eliminating that which is not necessary, by emphasizing the important elements, I might discover the real meaning and purpose of life–or at least of the moment. This image reminds me that life is fraught with dangers and pain, but those same sources of injury can also provide intense experiences of beauty; it all depends on the perspective.

Really like this Photo Mona! Beautiful..
Thanks MD. I appreciate it.

Beautiful shot Mona, and such wise words to come along…
Thank you Joanna
love how the sharp pointy bits seem to leap right out of the photo towards the viewer … I practically said ouch when I saw this photo. Also enjoyed the message with the photo, about perspective. Sometimes we have to have a little distance and space to gain a new perspective, and sometimes it becomes apparent immediately. Guess it depends on how deeply we’ve been punctured.
