I’ve been home a week. In that week, I’ve slept, stayed up all night hanging pictures in my new apt, read, done laundry, returned to work, and hung out with my son, daughter-in-law, and incredibly energetic and precocious granddaughter.
I have NOT, however, taken pictures. I’ve done little with the images I took while working in China. Perhaps I’ll get creative soon.
In the meantime, I am enjoying being HOME and watching the Olympics!
Rule of thumb… it takes 1 day for each hour difference in time zone… I’ve found that formula to be quite accurate, unfortunately!
I agree.
flamidwife hit the nail on the head…when I would travel back and forth between Japan and the States I was always a mess for several days…not enjoyable, but God I love to travel.
Be encouraged!
That would be 15 days! No wonder I feel “off.”
Absolutely… unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) our bodies do not respond in nanoseconds to what we put them through…best just to relax and enjoy taking it as easy as possible.

I am happy to hear this. I love to travel too … until this past week! So, now I know what is going on with my old worn-out body and mind.
Welcome back, Mona!
Thanks, Gina. It’s good to be home…. but DANG! I wish I had another week before facing 160 freshmen!
Holy Cow! 160 Freshmen is pretty scary in my book. You might want to get a massage every day between now and then just to build up your fortification. Good luck! May the force be with you.
Welcome back! Life isn’t that easy! Starting new term and coming back from far away.Let your body rest as much. Enjoy your home coming
Sometimes you just need a break – I believe that it is a necessity!
Sound like you are getting a lot of done staying up at night.
Amy, I have a bad habit of staying up too late … and forcing myself to get to bed before midnight (or 10 PM) now that I’m back to teaching.
Glad to know that you’re getting back to normal. Enjoy the transition period.
Welcome home. looking forward to pics from you when you feel up to it again. in the meantime just relax and enjoy being at home again.
Enjoy your downtime!
Welcome home Mona. I hope you don’t have to go back to work on the 6th! Enjoy your downtime and the time with your family and I am looking forward to the photos you captured while away.
I love having time to relax
Enjoy the Olympics!
Relax Time … YES!
