O, swear not by the moon, the inconstant moon,
That monthly changes in her circled orb…
~Juliet: The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Act 2 Scene 2
I was not getting the clear focus / sharp images I had gotten last year and was worried that I’d made a big mistake changing from Nikon to Canon.
However, my photographer son reminded me today that when I have the camera on the tripod, I need to shut off the image stabilization. DUH!

This looks so real! Look at the bottom craters, awesome!
I still think it’s remarkable that they are visible to our simple cameras.
Yes, it really is wonderful how this “simple” camera can take it like that!
YUP!
i agree with you – just imagine how it looked from the upper parts of earth’s atmosphere! I love seeing it other than full, too. Great shot.
And thanks for the reminder about ‘offing’ image stabilisation.
The more I “play” with my camera, the more I learn that I don’t know much … do you know what I mean?
Entirely – I’m mostly surprised if my shots are anything other than in focus – sometimes even that is a surprise
surreal & so beautiful! superb capture Mona!
Thank you so much. This was fun to shoot.
Oh my gosh I love your moon shots
I think I like these better than the full moon shots, you can see the canyons in the shadows, really great looking
I agree with you. I think it has something to do with the sun’s light on the moon. I did not realize this until I started taking moon shots.
