I’ve read many posts about the difficulty of choosing only 12 pictures that would capture a year. I concur; the task was challenging in many ways. I am sure that I was not the only one who experienced a roller-coaster of emotions while lingering over a year’s worth of images — images that tell stories and conjure up memories. JANUARY: Day at the zoo with Son and Granddaughter.

FEBRUARY: Photo workshop in on an old ranch in the high desert of Arizona

MARCH: Butterfly exhibit and the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix

APRIL: I met “Lizard Man” at Tempe Town Lake. He agreed to a few shots only if I took one with him.

MAY: My Granddaughter, who is my favorite subject and playmate.

JUNE: We said goodbye to my father…truly the kindest man I’ve every known.

JULY: June 16 – July 23 working in China. How could I choose only one picture to represent this vast country and incredible experience? I took this shot of the plane before take-off with my iPad.

AUGUST: I adopted 4-yr old Cocker Spaniel Sophie, a true blessing in my life.

SEPTEMBER: I am captivated by the moon.

OCTOBER: Sophie and I took pictures in Sedona, Arizona during Fall Break.

NOVEMBER: My friend on Miami Beach

DECEMBER: My family — Daughter-in-Law w/ Grandchild #2, Son #1, Granddaughter, Son #2 & his fiancée.

I can’t even imagine picking 12!! Well done
It took about six hours of the memories and emotions evoked, and because I truly wanted to post twice this many.
You take the best moon shots! It was a moon shot that drew me to your blog.
Your moon shot remains one of my all time favs! Happy New Year!
Wonderful selections. I have a photo almost like your Sedona one. Found your photo of the Lizard Man very interesting.

I have to say thank you for encouraging and helping me all of last year! Having a blog really puts me out of my comfort zone, but you have been there for me every step of the way
You’re an amazing person and I’m so thankful to have you following me
I can’t wait to see what pictures you take during this new year!
Amanda, you are kind. Thank you. I would love to meet you in person some day. Keep growing in your art and in your life and keeping posting about your photographic experiences…all of them. I am learning from you, as well.
To meet you would be amazing! Thank you for all the sweet words
I’ve learned so much.. but still have so much more to learn HAHA!
I can see it was a good year and the pig-tailed grandaughter is a delight. China- that must have been amazing, and now here we are, rolling through 2013.
The little imp of a granddaughter is absolutely the joy of my life. I plan to return to China again this summer…my third working there.
