“Hope” is the thing with feathers
“Hope” is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—
And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—
I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
~Emily Dickinson
Yesterday, while taking pictures at the picnic, I learned that hope comes from enjoying life, spending time with other people, giving time, sharing laughs and struggles.
Thank you to jakesprinter for another inspiring challenge. If you haven’t visited his blog, step on over; I think you’ll enjoy it.
Love the poem! It says it all. There is always hope
Yes, there is always hope.
🙂
So you like this poem, too! Love your pictures.
Thank you!

Such beautiful roses. But best of all is seeing those faces filled with joy as they slide down on the sled.
Aren’t they fun?
Great photography for this week theme Mona,
I really love it thanks for sharing my friend 🙂
Your challenges are always fun … And they help me to stretch myself. Thank you!

Beautiful shots and poem 🙂
It is a great poem isn’t it. I watched the older people dance together for a few hours & it warmed my heart to see them enjoy each other’s company.
So sweet and I love Emily Dickinson 🙂
Thanks … So do I … What a sad solitary life she led.
Beautiful roses, and I have to agree with your sentiments, Mona.
I just had to post the shot of the roses because I have struggled to get the color and contrast just right. Finally!
Perfection!
such a lovely poem…perfectly fitting
I agree, Jo.
I have always loved that poem, and the pictures are wonderful.
thank you so much
